Accommodation

Our cosy and comfortable 'Boutique Bunkhouse' is the perfect base for exploring Cheddar, the Mendip Hills AONB, the Somerset Levels and beyond.

With secure bike and equipment storage, outdoor bike wash facilities, and an air dryer for your wet gear, The Velo Loft is ideal for the active and adventurous looking to explore the area by bike or on foot by day and access all the local shops, pubs and restaurants by night. A well-equipped kitchen also means you can easily cook for yourselves.

Contact our sister business Cheddar Bikes before or during your stay to hire an e-bike or mountain bike at special guest rates to make it even more special.

Simply step out of your front door and on to a bike! All equipment provided.

You'll find detailed local maps and suggested routes in and outside the apartment, and we're always happy to offer suggestions to suit you.

On-street parking is available nearby and you can pull up right outside to unload if you arrive by car.

The interior is newly renovated and carefully thought through to accommodate couples, families, or friends travelling together.

Locally inspired artwork and design adds to the experience. Cleaning is of the highest standard.

We love where we live and we're excited to share that passion with our guests. Find us just downstairs working every day at Cheddar Bikes and Extra Mile Printing and Embroidery.

If we've popped out, our friendly staff will be more than happy to help and we'll make sure you have our contact details in the unlikely event of any out of hours issues.

There is so much to see and do in and around the Cheddar Valley, you'll wish you'd stayed longer and we think you'll be keen to come back again and again.

Did you know Cheddar Gorge is a Site of Special Scientific Interest? And home to Britain's oldest complete skeleton?

Visit the Discover Cheddar website to find out what makes Cheddar the Outdoor Capital of the South West and find lots of recommendations for exploring our beautiful village and beyond.

You'll be hungry after you've walked, cycled and explored the awe-inspiring Gorge and with a wide range of fantastic places to eat within easy walking distance of the Velo Loft, you'll be spoilt for choice.

If you fancy a night in, our local butcher, delis, roadside produce stalls, market gardens and wealth of gift shops will provide everything you need from afternoon tea to after-dinner wine (or cider) and, of course, cheese!

For convenience there are two small supermarkets in the village and a locally-run homewares and bulk discount store right across the road for everything else.

Don't forget that many other beauties lie just beyond the village - Axbridge, Wells, Glastonbury, and more. All are accessible by bus, or e-bike.
