Tree of Light

Cheddar Vale Lions Club is holding the annual TREE OF LIGHT which gives members of the local community the chance to sponsor a light in memory of a loved one.

Christmas is going should be better this year but for many it is a sad time as they remember those who are no longer with us. More than ever, we can also reflect on those lost due to the pandemic. Dedications for a light can be made via the following link: https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/18564 or on our website: www.cheddarvalelions.org.uk where a form can be downloaded. If this is difficult, then please email: [email protected] and details for a bank transfer can be provided. Please do not forget to give the names of your loved ones so that they can appear on the list by the tree and a star to be displayed on the wooden tree inside the Bath Arms.

This Lions club project is of benefit to the community with all proceeds used to support other groups and organisations within the Cheddar Valley location. Lions' members thank everyone who has contributed to this project over the last 6 years, as it is truly helping Lions make a difference in the community.

There will be a short dedication service outside the front of the Bath Arms on 15 December with Christmas carols. If it is not possible to hold a public service, the dedication will be live streamed and available online via Facebook. All the light sponsors receive a Memory card bearing the name/s of their loved ones, these will be distributed as the applications come in. Dedications can be made up to the end of December. Please note that any changes to these arrangements will be posted on Facebook or refer to the club's website.

The Cheddar Vale Lions Club meets on 2nd Thursday of each month and currently we are using Hannah More Cottage but hoping to move to the new Sharpham Road Pavilion very soon. Lions clubs identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
