A professional BMX stunt rider, who has won at the NASS Festival and appeared on a number of TV shows, has opened a bike repair business in Cheddar.

Scott Hamlin is operating Stuntman Mechanix from a unit at Cheddar Business Park, which he opened following a boom in business in the previous lockdown.

Scott is a well known name in the stunt BMX world, having appeared on Sky's TV series Revolution, and on the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures on the BBC in 2019.

He told Cheddar Nub News: "I have 18 years behind me fixing bikes and during the last lockdown I did so well that I could not have people turning up to my home unit anymore.

"I have a new role at Tribal Bikes, a successful bike brand from Cheddar, so it made sense to move into this unit with them.

"I am not a pretentious shop at all, it's just me there and I am appointment only. I come from a place where the cheapest bike is treated like the most expensive bike, I price in a way that is fair to everyone and aim to please those even with lower incomes because, to be honest, I love what I do.

"I barely have time off but catering for everyone is where it's at so my prices must reflect this as does my five-star rating on Google reviews and Facebook."
