Birch Hill in Cheddar is scheduled to be closed for eight days for roadworks, starting this week.

The road is due to be closed from Monday (June 29) to July 6 for 40 metres around the Gorge View property.

The closure is set to happen so BT Openreach can undertake ducting work to provide its telephone and broadband service.

Other roadworks scheduled to take place in Cheddar this week include:

From Monday to Friday (July 3), there are set to be temporary traffic lights on the A371 Upper New Road, to enable Somerset Highways to work on the kerbs and do some resurfacing.

The temporary traffic lights on the A371 Draycott Road for Wales and West Utilities to replace a gas main are due to remain in place until August 14.

From Tuesday (June 30) to Thursday (July 2), Wessex Water is scheduled to be repairing or replacing a cover and frame in Warrens Hill.

Finally, the Bristol Water work in Barrows Road is set to be completed on Monday.
