Having been closed since January, Kings Fitness and Leisure in Cheddar is delighted that it has reopened in line with Government guidelines.

Following it's re-opening the centre has returned to its bustling self with members enjoying the benefits of all its facilities once more.

Although the centre has been closed that's not to say that they haven't been working hard this year with the launching of a range of new initiatives over the lockdown period to keep members active at home.

This has included brand new Zoom fitness classes - such as dance, Pilates, body conditioning,

and more - for both adults and children, which have been specifically adapted so as everyone can have the experience of gym with just what they have at home.

These online classes were completely free and have proved a great success, helping everyone stay active while also staying at home.

Now the centre has re-opened however they are back to business as usual with the gym, pool, Astro Turf and other facilities open to members every day.

Further to this the staff at the centre are building on the success of their lockdown Zoom classes by introducing 42 blended fitness classes which combine face-to-face sessions at the centre with Zoom.

This enables more people to attend classes, while still adhering to social distancing requirements, and enabling those who still feel more comfortable staying at home to participate. Classes available include Indoor Cycling, Circuits and Body Pump.

Although the centre may be open again, staff are still aware that Covid has not gone away and have implemented a number of measures to ensure that visitors to the facilities are as safe as possible.

This includes increased cleaning, the wearing of face masks, social distancing, and regular hand washing.

A spokesperson said: "Kings Fitness and Leisure is incredibly proud to be open once again, doing what they do best: helping you stay active.

"The last year has been difficult for everyone, but as we edge closer to normality once more, we cannot wait to welcome you back through our doors once more."
