Plans to build an agricultural fodder and machinery store in Draycott have been withdrawn.

A planning application for the construction of an agricultural building for use as a fodder/machinery store and the extension to an existing hard-core access driveway on land at Vicarage Lane, Draycott, had been submitted to Mendip District Council by Ian Winter.

The proposed building was to be located next to an existing building, providing adequate storage for the fodder produced from both existing land and a neighbouring area of 22 acres the applicant has recently purchased.

However, Rodney Stoke Parish Council objected to the plans saying it considered the access to the site to be poor as the road is a narrow residential road with no passing places, and the proposal has now been withdrawn.

One planning application in the Cheddar area has been submitted this week:

Application for Non-Material Amendment to Planning Permission 50/18/00023 (approval of the details of appearance, landscaping, layout and scale for the erection of 55 dwellings - 24 affordable - plus garages, car parking, internal access roads, footpaths and circulation areas, public open space and associated infrastructure and engineering works - reserved matters of 50/14/00071) to allow for a change from a small brick infill panel, to a render infill panel at land to the south of The Lerburne, Wedmore, has been made by Acorn Property Group.

Planning applications in the Cheddar area that have been decided this week include:

Erection of a single storey front (north) and side (east) extension at 1 Houlgate Way, Axbridge, by Mr Wookey has been approved.

Erection of a wooden shed at 13 Masons Way, Cheddar, by Mr P Dormer has been approved.

Variations of Condition 2 of Planning Permission 17/18/00086 (erection of two detached dwellings and construction of access and parking area) to amend design and material finish of proposed dwellings at land to the north of Ashey Lane, Cheddar, by Mr Fryer have been approved.

Erection of a detached garage, partly on the footprint of the existing garage (to be demolished) at Summerfield Cottage, Webbington Road, Compton Bishop, has been approved.

Removal of conservatory and erection of a single storey rear (west) extension at Potters Mews, Glanville Road, Wedmore, by Mr Potter has been approved.

Erection of a detached single-storey home office at Elmbank, Crib House Lane, Crickham, by Mrs L Meadowcroft has been withdrawn.
