Students at Kings Academy Sixth in Cheddar are celebrating their A-level and Level 3 vocational results today (August 13).

The students have worked incredibly hard to achieve these results that reflect both their commitment to and effort in, their studies.

Given the current situation, statistical trends have not been included as the focus is on the students.

There were incredible individual achievements. These include: Lizzie Arnold and Alex Cullum with A*A*A*A and A*A*AA respectively.

Lizzie intends to continue her studies in Physics at Durham University while Alex will take up his place to study Economics at the University of Warwick.

Miriam Mitchell achieved A*A*A continuing with her study of English Literature at Durham University. Iona Impey and Jess Frost leave with A*AA to study Chemical Engineering and History.

Further excellent results were achieved by Bonnie Brown AAA, Lucy Caulfield A*AB, Eva Delap A*BB, Ewart Jackson-Voyzey A*A*B, Imogen Low A*A*C, Abbey Olney A* Distinction Distinction (L3 BTEC), Lauren Powell A*A*B, Simon Toogood A*AB, Anna Wadey AAA.

They will continue their education in Economics, Politics and International Relations, Architecture, Mathematics, Fine Art, is taking a gap year, Mechanical Engineering, Physics with Astrophysics, Medicine.

This year more than ever students have stayed positive through unexpected and unprecedented situations showing their character and determination throughout.

Every student has contributed and developed throughout their time in Kings Sixth such as volunteering in their school and wider community helping those younger or less able with an incredible number achieving their Rising Stars certificates, the Senior Student Team raising more than £10,000 for charity in the autumn term, countless sport representatives both for the Academy and beyond, music and show performances, leading church services and raising awareness of green, local and national issues to name just a few.

Head teacher, Gavin Ball, said: "I am pleased for the students that their hard work and enthusiasm has been rewarded.

"I'd like to thank parents and carers for their support throughout their son/daughter's schooling especially during the last six months.

"I wish each and every student success for their futures. I hope that they move forward with resolve and passion, achieving and succeeding in everything they do."
