A 57-year-old woman has officially been named as the cyclist who died in a collision on the B3139 between Blackford and Mark last week.

Senior Somerset coroner Tony Williams has confirmed he has opened an inquest into the death of Lorraine Barrow following the collision on September 17.

Mr Williams said: "On Wednesday September 23 I opened an inquest into the death of Lorraine Michelle Barrow, of Blackford.

"I identified that Lorraine Barrow was 57 years old when she was confirmed dead on September 17 on the B3139 Blackford to Mark road.

"Cause of death was confirmed to me as a head injury. I was advised that the fatal injury came about as a result of a road traffic incident.

"This incident remains the subject of ongoing police investigations and I have adjourned the inquest to an internal Case Management Review on or before December 23."
