The A38 through Sidcot is scheduled to be re-opened this afternoon after a week-long closure caused by a burst water main.

Bristol Water has said that the main is fully repaired, and the reinstatement of the road surface is almost complete.

The company says the road will re-open this afternoon with Somerset Highways currently listing the closure to be lifted at 3pm.

The road was closed when a sinkhole appeared following the main bursting, and a coach got stuck, though there were no injuries reported.
