Approval given to convert former estate agents in Mark into a cafe

Plans to convert the former Myrtle Properties estate agents in Mark into a cafe have been given approval by Sedgemoor District Council.

The planning application for the change of use from estate agent (use Class A2) to cafe (Use Class A3), plus alterations and the building of a single-storey extension to the rear of Churchlands, Church Farm, Church Street, Mark, was submitted by Mr Bates.

The applicant intends to use the property for the preparation and sale of handmade bread, pastries, tea and coffee.

In order to achieve this comfortably he also applied to add a single-storey extension to the

property which will house a new kitchen.

Planning applications in the Cheddar area which have been submitted this week include:

Erection of a two storey extension to SE elevation of dwelling to link attach existing detached garage at Holly Tree Farm, New Road, Stone Allerton, has been applied for by Mr Gowan.

Variation of Planning Permission 33372G to extend the opening hours to allow for trade all year round at Cheddar Bridge Touring Park, Draycott Road, Cheddar, is wanted.

Change of use of land from agriculture to site two holiday pods at Southcroft Farm, Bridgwater Road, Cross, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Brinson.

Outline planning permission, with some matters reserved, erection of a self-build dwelling at The Hill, Mill Lane, Wedmore, is wanted by Mr and Mrs Jonas.

Application for Non-Material Amendment to Planning Permission 50/19/00137 (Variation of Condition 2 of Planning Permission 50/18/00056 erection of 35 dwellings with access, landscaping, parking, public open space and associated works, to allow for various amendments to plots and layout) to allow for amendments to landscaping of front gardens to Plots 26-31 (inclusive) to change from hard landscaping to soft landscaping on land east of Wedmore First School, Blackford Road, Wedmore, has been made by Strongvox Homes.

Dwelling house occupied in breach of occupancy restriction application at Lower Stoke Farm, Barrow Wood Lane, Rodney Stoke, has been made by Mr Richard Counsell.

Change of use of land from agricultural to residential to facilitate the erection of residential outbuilding, erection of a single storey to the rear (SE) elevations at Over Compton, Vicarage Lane, Compton Bishop, by Mr Martin has been approved.

Change of use of barns, demolition of existing Dutch barn and erection of new building to form a dwelling on land to the south of Littlemoor Road, Mark, by Mr and Mrs House has been approved.

Erection of an elevated deck terrace to the rear elevation, conversion of loft space to habitable room with rear facing dormer window, internal modifications, installation of replacement windows, retention of vehicular access and formation of parking area at Brackenside, Cuck Hill, Shipham, by E Stidwell have been approved.

Erection of a two storey extension to the rear (SE) elevation and erection of a single storey extension to the side (south) elevation on site of existing single storey extension to be demolished at Hope End, Top Road, Shipham, by Mr Brimecombe has been approved.

Conversion of existing outbuilding to facilitate a larger independent dwelling at The Old Stables, Alston Sutton Farms, Alston Sutton Road, Weare, by Mr Ham has been approved.

Application to determine if prior approval is required for a proposed change of use of agricultural building to a dwellinghouse, and associated building operations at Home Field, Mudgley, by Mr F Tucker has been approved.

Application to determine if prior approval is required for a proposed change of use of agricultural buildings to form a dwelling, and associated operational development at South View Farm, Lane from The Old Byre To Long Hill, Crickham, by Ms K Hector has been refused.

Erection of single storey extension to rear (north west) elevation on site of existing garage (to be demolished) at Fircroft, Pilcorn Street, Wedmore, by Mr and Mrs Miller has been approved.

Erection of single storey extension to rear (north) elevation and porch/log store to side (east) elevation at Moorend Farm, Dungeon, Cocklake, by Mr and Mrs Young has been approved.

Proposed two bedroom dwelling and formation of new vehicular access at Laurel House, The Street, Draycott, by Miss N Bateman has been approved.
