A planning application to allow Cheddar Bridge Touring Park to open all-year round has been given the green light by Sedgemoor District Council.
The application at the site in Draycott Road was for the variation of Condition 1 of Planning Permission 33372G (continued use of land adjoining Gas House Lane, Cheddar, as a caravan and camping site) to extend the opening hours to allow for trade all-year round.
The touring park is currently allowed to open between March 1 and November 15, but in the application David Comber from the park said that times have moved on in the tourism industry and they wanted to help support other traders in the village during the off-peak season.
The planning department at Sedgemoor agreed, and gave the go-ahead for all-year opening on the conditions that all pitches at the site shall be occupied for tourism purposes only and shall not
be occupied as a person's sole or main residence, and the site operator and owners shall maintain an up-to-date register of the names of all owners/occupiers, including their guests, and evidence of their main home addresses, and shall make this information available at all reasonable times to the local planning authority.
