Temporary traffic lights are planned for roadworks on the B3151 between Cheddar and Wedmore next week.

The lights are scheduled to be used from Monday (October 26) to Friday (October 30) on Cheddar Road between Home Farm at Clewer and the junction with New Road at Cocklake.

They are set to be in place to enable Truespeed to undertake cabling and jointing works for its ultrafast broadband roll-out.

Other roadworks in the Cheddar area that are due to take place next week include:

The temporary traffic lights on the B3151 Lower New Road in Cheddar for Wales and West Utilities to repair a gas leak are set to be removed on Monday.

From Monday to Friday, BT is scheduled to be doing fibre jointing and cabling work in a number of Cheddar streets including Station Road, Bath Street, Union Street, Parsons Pen, Symons Way and Redcliffe Street.

The company is also planning on building joint boxes in Cheddar in Fairlands Way and Penn Road from Monday to Wednesday (October 28), and in Millbourne Road from Tuesday (October 27) to Thursday (October 29).

The Bristol Water works in The Cliffs, Cheddar, to repair a leak should be completed by Tuesday.

In Axbridge, the closure of Old Church Road for urgent roof works to take place is set to remain in place until November 1, and the temporary traffic lights in Orchard Road for BT to install poly ducts are due to be used until Tuesday.

On Monday and Tuesday, Crib House Lane is scheduled to be closed between Clewer and Crickham to enable Gigaclear to carry out reinstatement works.

Similar works by Gigaclear should also see Stone Allerton Drove closed on Tuesday.

From Monday to Sunday (November 1) Kelsons Lane in Wedmore is set to be shut to traffic to enable Strongvox to carry out new storm water sewer connection works.

Finally, the multi-way temporary traffic lights at the junction of the A38 and Notting Hill Way in Lower Weare to enable Gigaclear to lay new fibre optic cable are set to be removed on Friday.
