Cheddar area roadworks for week commencing October 5

Temporary traffic lights are planned on the A371 through Cheddar this week for power company works.

Multi-way lights are scheduled at the junction of the A371 Wideatts Road and Comer Road on Wednesday (October 7).

The lights are set to be used to enable Western Power Distribution to undertake reconductoring works.

Other roadworks and closures in the Cheddar area that are scheduled to take place this week include:

The B3135 through Cheddar Gorge is due to be closed overnight from 6pm on Thursday (October 8) to 6am on Friday (October 9) while a new Netflix children's series is being filmed.

The temporary traffic lights in St Andrew's Road, Cheddar, for BT's works to clear three duct blockages are set to be removed on Monday (October 5).

Multi-way temporary traffic lights are scheduled to be used at the junction of the A371 and School Lane in Draycott from Wednesday to Friday to enable Truespeed to undertake cabling and splicing works.

Also in Draycott, from Monday to Wednesday Somerset Highways are due to be doing signage works.

Finally, temporary traffic lights are set to be used on the B3151 Cheddar Road in Wedmore from Friday to October 14 while Wales and West Utilities lay a new gas main for a future development.
