There are scheduled to be temporary traffic lights on the A371 through Cheddar this week.

The lights are due to be used in Wideatts Road from Tuesday (August 25) to Thursday (August 27).

They are set to be in place to enable BT to work on and test their network, with similar work scheduled to be done on those three days under temporary traffic lights in The Barrows.

BT are due to be doing the same work, but not under temporary traffic lights, from Tuesday to Thursday in Fiveways Close, Annaly Road, Dunsley Field, Barrows Road, The Link and Barrows Croft.

Other roadworks in Cheddar that are scheduled to take place this week include:

Hannay Road and Warrens Hill are due to be closed from 8am to 4pm on Sunday (August 30), to enable A-Plant Lux to carry out cabling works on behalf of BT Openreach.

Related to the closures and the works, there will also be multi-way temporary traffic lights on the Sunday at the crossroads where the B3135 meets Hannay Road and Round Oak Road.

On Wednesday (August 26), Somerset Highways are set to be undertaking jetting works in Tweentown.

BT's work to repair or replace a faulty telecoms cable in Fairlands Way is scheduled to be completed on Monday (August 24).

Finally, the month-long scaffolding permit at The Dolphins in Lower North Street is set to run out on Friday (August 28).
