A road in Cheddar is scheduled to be closed this week to enable urgent roadworks to take place.

Barrows Road is set to be shut from Monday (January 4) to Sunday (January 10) from the junction with Springfield Road to the junction with Gough Place.

The closure is due to take place to enable Masters Pipeline Services to carry out urgent sewer connection works.

Other roadworks planned to take place in Cheddar this week include:

From Tuesday (January 5) to Thursday (January 7), temporary traffic lights are scheduled on the A371 Bath Street from the junction with Station Road to the junction with Church Street to enable BT to clear blockages and lay a new duct.

Multi-way temporary traffic lights are set to be used along Station Road from Thursday to January 20, to enable BT to undertake cabling works and clear blockages.

Similar work by the company is due to take place using stop and go traffic control from Monday to January 16 in Tweentown, and from Monday to January 15 in Lower North Street.

From Tuesday to Thursday, the firm is also providing a new telegraph pole in Labourham Drive.

The other BT works this week are scheduled to be from Wednesday (January 6) to January 19 in Barrows Road, where stop and go traffic control is set to be used to enable cabling, gully-sucking, desilting and blockages works to be done.

Finally, on Tuesday and Wednesday, Bristol Water is due to be repairing a leak in Orchard Way.
