A holiday let in Mark will be able to continue operating after retrospective approval for its use was given by Sedgemoor District Council.
A retrospective planning application for the change of use of first-floor ancillary accommodation to a holiday let at Nut Tree Cottage, Harp Road, Mark, was submitted by Fiona Griffiths.
Work to convert the first floor of the garage building into a holiday let was completed earlier this year, and this application was to get official permission for its change of use.
Mark Parish Council objected to the retrospective application, saying that when the building was described as being a first-floor store/games room when it was approved in 2018, and that it was not suitable for a further dwelling.
However, Sedgemoor District Council disagreed and the proposal was given the green light.
One planning application in the Cheddar area has been submitted to Sedgemoor District Council this week:
Erection of a single-storey extension to the west elevation, raising of roof height and installation of dormer windows to front and rear to allow for the conversion of loft to living accommodation and erection of a porch to the east elevation at Fontainbleu, Badgworth, has been applied for by Mr Davis.
Planning applications in the Cheddar area that have been decided this week by Sedgemoor District Council include:
Erection of a agricultural building on land to the east of Green Drove, Mark, by Mr Puddy has been withdrawn.
Erection of detached workshop and office space partly on site of existing garage to be demolished at Apple Tree Cottage, Back Lane, Shipham, has been approved.
