14th May 2021 | Local News

To show support for Mental Health Awareness Week, Cheddar's youth mental health charity The Space is running a Nature Photography Competition – with awesome prizes donated by local businesses.

Applicants aged between four and 18 years old may submit one photograph to The Space by Sunday (May 16).

The subject of the photograph must be nature, be it wildlife, plants, flowers, or landscapes. Other than that, get creative and go wild!

Guest judges will be Ellen Grady, Director of The Arts Quarter Cheddar, and Tim Lethaby, Regional Editor of Nub News.

Winners will be announced on Thursday May 20 and photographs subsequently published by Cheddar Nub News and displayed at The Arts Quarter Cheddar.

Prizes are divided into the following age categories:

10-18-year-olds

Winner will receive a stand-up paddleboard or kayak taster session for you and a friend at Cheddar Reservoir, donated by Bristol Corinthian Yacht Club.

Second place will receive a Lowe Alpine Spark 18 rucksack, donated by The Gorge Outdoors.

Four to nine-year-olds

Winner will receive a children's gardening set – including Kent and Stowe gardening tools, Briers tool bag set, gloves and seeds.

Four runners up will also receive a Briers gardening tool bag set. All donated by Hillier Garden Centre, Cheddar.

Please email entries to [email protected] with the child's name, age and title of the photograph.

Good luck!
