PHOTOS: Some of the amazing creations on the Cheddar Flower and Scarecrow Trail

Instead of the traditional indoor event, the Cheddar Flower Show Committee has organised an outdoor fortnight of fun and flowers by making a Flower and Scarecrow Trail in the village.
The Flower and Scarecrow Trail runs until August 28, when everyone's handiwork and green fingers can be admired by people following a Trail Map.
A Facebook Page is open so that people can post photos of anything they have made or grown, such as craft, cookery, flowers, or artwork – anything of which they are proud. There are not any prizes, but plenty of admiration and praise.

There are more than 70 entries on the trail of either scarecrows or floral handicraft, and please scroll through our photos above to see some of the fine creations.
