Planning application submitted to convert Charterhouse barn into a four-bedroom house

A planning application has been submitted to convert a barn on a farm in Charterhouse into a four-bedroom house.

The application for the change of use of an agricultural building to a dwelling house at Ubley Drove Farm, Ubley Drove, Charterhouse, was submitted by Jamie Daly.

The plan is to convert the single-storey barn into a four-bedroom home, while retaining much of the external look of the barn.

According to the application, local materials will be used in the conversion by local craftsmen, with an emphasis on the use of recycled materials and solar panels.

Other planning applications in the Cheddar area that have been submitted this week include:

Variation of conditions 2 on Planning Permission 33/13/00025 (Erection of replacement dwelling and double garage, demolition of existing dwelling and outbuildings) to change materials and amend design of garage at Pill Row Farm, Pill Road, Mark, is wanted by Mr Prosser.

Erection of an elevated deck terrace to the rear elevation, conversion of loft space to habitable room with rear facing dormer window, internal modifications, installation of replacement windows and extension of parking area at Brackenside, Cuck Hill, Shipham, has been applied for by E Stidwell.

Variation of Condition 2 of Planning Permission 49/20/00001 (Erection of a two storey side, north west, extension on site of existing to be demolished) to amend the approved plans to allow for a reduction in size of the proposed extension at Sparrow Hill Cottage, Sparrow Hill Way, Weare, is wanted by Mr Fox.

Erection of a single storey side extension at Perro House, Ubley Drove, Charterhouse, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Cowley.

Certificate of Lawfulness to establish the existing use of a garage as a residential dwelling at Vintage M G Restorations, Bristol Road, Biddisham, by Mr and Mrs Body has been approved.

Erection of barn for storage of hay on land to the east of Mark Road, Chapel Allerton, by Mr Popham has been approved.

Erection of timber framed garden shed in garden of Little Ireland House, Little Ireland Road, Wedmore, by Mr and Mrs Stewart has been approved.

Erection of a self build dwelling (revised scheme) on land to the east of Moorland Farm, West Well Lane, Theale, by Mr Landers has been approved.

Approval of details reserved by conditions 6 (surface water drainage) on planning consent 2019/0427/REM (Erection of farm workers dwelling) at Pump House Farm, Whitesomes Drove, Rodney Stoke, by Mr and Mrs Lukins has been refused.
