A planning application for a self-build home in Wedmore has been given the green light by Sedgemoor District Council.

The application for outline planning permission, with some matters reserved, for the building of a self-build dwelling at The Hill, Mill Lane, Wedmore, was submitted by Mr and Mrs Jonas.

The application site forms a parcel of land to the most south westerly corner of an agricultural field to the east of an existing public right of way on the north side of Mill Lane.

There are ten properties to the west of the application site and three opposite. To the south and east of the application site is the remainder of the agricultural field before a further three properties, one of which is owned by the applicant.

Wedmore Parish Council objected to the plan saying that it would be an unsustainable development in the countryside, but the district council disagreed and approved the home.

Erection of a triple garage and store at Stone Wood, Bradley Cross Lane, Bradley Cross, Cheddar, has been applied for by Mr Beer.
