Plans have been submitted to Sedgemoor District Council for the expansion of a Cheddar property and its garage, to create three homes.

A planning application for the building of a two-storey extension to the existing dwelling to form two semi-detached dwellings, and the building of a two-storey extension to an existing garage/flat over to form a detached dwelling, together with parking and turning area at Ceconda, The Barrows, Cheddar, has been submitted by Mr Sugg.

The site currently contains a four-bedroom house, garage and flat over, and this application is proposing the creation of two two-bedroom semi-detached houses and one three-bedroom house together with parking.

The application said: "The orientation and sitting of the dwelling within the site has been designed to ensure acceptable daylight levels are achieved, while ensuring there is no loss of privacy or amenity for neighbouring dwellings.

"The proposal for three dwellings on the site produces a density at a level that is acceptable in principle and respects the nearby housing density."

One other planning application in the Cheddar area has been submitted this week:
