A planning application for the building of 134 homes in Cheddar has been given the green light by Sedgemoor planners.

The application for the construction of 134 homes with access, public open space and associated infrastructure by Bloor Homes was approved by Sedgemoor District Council this week.

The site on Holwell Lane is by the current Bloor development on the A371 Upper New Road, and straddles the Strawberry Line path.

In the initial application, Bloor Homes proposed that 351 parking spaces be allocated across the 134 homes.

Of the 134 homes, 94 will be houses put on the market, with 16 two-bedroom buildings, 49 three-bedroom and 29 four or more bedroom homes being built.

The other 40 homes will be social housing, with 12 one-bedroom flats and two two-bedroom flats along with 14 two-bedroom houses, 11 three-bedroom houses and one four or more bedroom house.
