Plans submitted to Sedgemoor District Council to convert a barn in Chapel Allerton into a three-bedroom home have been withdrawn.

A planning application to determine if prior approval was required for the proposed change of use of agricultural building to a dwelling on land at the Former Chapel/Dairy, Rectory Hill, Chapel Allerton, had been submitted by Mr and Mrs Whittaker.

The plan had been for the barn to remain as a single-storey construction, retaining its historic features, with a layout of three bedrooms, living room, kitchen/diner, utility room, and bathroom.

One planning application in the Cheddar area has been submitted this week:

Approval of the details of access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale, for erection of a self-build dwelling at Maes Y De, Venns Gate, Cheddar, has been applied for by Mr B Britton.

Planning applications in the Cheddar area that have been decided this week include:

Certificate of Lawfulness for the proposed erection of single storey extension to the side (east) elevation at 34 Hill Lea Gardens, Cheddar, by Mr Bulpitt has been approved.

Erection of an extension to south elevation of existing double garage, to form a lean-to garage at Bell House, The Old Primary School, Cheddar Road, Wedmore, by Mr Thomas has been approved.

Plans to make alterations to improve the access, allow use of agricultural building to house livestock and extend the building and for the creation of a silage pit on land at Hill Farm, Wells Road, Rodney Stoke, by Mr and Mrs Stott have been approved.
