Plans to convert former cow stall building near Cross into house are given the go-ahead

A planning application to convert a former cow stall building between Cross and Lower Weare has been given the green light.

The application for the change of use of a former agricultural building to dwelling at Riverside Farm, Old Coach Road, was submitted by Mr Howell and has been approved by Sedgemoor District Council.

The site is not a working farm and the cow stall has not been in agricultural use for some time, being used for storage for the main Riverside Farm home.

Now approval has been granted, the former cow stall will be converted to a residential dwelling comprising three bedrooms and an opening plan living, kitchen and dining area.

Planning applications in the Cheddar area that have been submitted this week include:

Variation of Conditions 2 and 3 of Planning Permission 02/18/00002 (Removal of Conditions 3 and 4 of Planning Permission 02/11/00014 - change of use of bistro/restaurant to a tea room and take away with craft/gift area and change of use of part of the ground floor area to residential use - to change the hours of use) to extend the opening hours of the takeaway service at the Alms House, The Square, Axbridge, is wanted by N Frewin.

Formation of two concrete yard areas on existing farmyard at Lilac Farm, Harp Road, Mark, has been applied for by Mr M Wall.

Certificate of Lawfulness for the existing use of land as a caravan park and caravan storage at Dutch Court Farm Caravan Park, Dutch Road, Mark, is wanted by Mr J and Mrs P Harris.

Erection of five timber sheds in association with self sufficient growing operation and alterations to existing access on land east of Cheddar Road, Cocklake, has been applied for by Mrs Campbell.

Planning applications in the Cheddar area that have been decided this week include:

Erection of a two storey extension to the rear (south) elevation on site of existing conservatory to be demolished at 1 Jubilee Road, Axbridge, by Mr and Mrs Frith has been withdrawn.

Erection of general purpose agricultural livestock building on land to the north of Slade Lane, Tarnock, by Mr A Palmer has been approved.

Erection of two storey extension to side (north) elevation and single storey extension to rear (west) elevation at Tarvin, Upper New Road, Cheddar, by Mr and Mrs Clapp has been approved.

Application to Modify Planning Obligation (Section 52 Agreement) dated 7th June 1989 between Sedgemoor District Council, Clifton Catholic Diocesan Trustees Registered, Dennis Robert Bedford, Gilian Margaret Bedford, the Rev. John Bergin, the Rev. Christopher Maher, the Rev. Michael Kiely and the Rev. John Guidera, relating to Planning Application 17/86/00096 to amend the rights of access details at Russell House, Upper North Street, Cheddar, by Clifton Diocese has been approved.

Variation of Conditions 2 and 3 of Planning Permission 21/15/00017 (Change of use, conversion and extension of kennel lodges, slaughterhouse and stables into three dwellings, change of use of ancillary exercise yards and paddock part of field no 1634 into garden for residential use and access, erection of garages and carports) to allow for an amendment to Unit 3 and to allow demolition of whelping pens and kennels at Huntsman House, Kennel Lane, Webbington, by Mr Amesbury has been approved.

Erection of two storey and single storey extension to rear (south) elevation at 2 Council Houses, The Causeway, Mark, by Mr Edgecombe has been approved.

Single storey extension with additional lower floor semi-basement at Little Charmavey, Sun Batch, Draycott, by Mr and Mrs Waelchli has been approved.

Erection of a detached garage and home office ancillary to main dwelling at 5 South Close, Draycott, by Mr Sam Denning-Kendall has been approved.
