Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed they are continuing to investigate the break-in at the Cheddar Foodbank earlier this week.

Overnight between Monday December 9 to Tuesday December 10, an unknown number of people forced they way into the foodbank storage container and stole a number of items, including lots of chocolate, toilet rolls, toiletries, a mobile phone, paperwork and a small amount of cash.

A police spokesperson said: "A storage container for the food bank in Wessex Business Centre, Cheddar, was broken into between 12.45pm on Monday December 9 and 10am the following day.

"Food, paperwork and a small quantity of cash was stolen. Enquiries are ongoing.

"If anyone has information about this incident, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5219284520."

Organisers have said that if anyone would like to help restock the foodbank, donations of food can be left at the foodbank container in Cheddar Sainsbury's.
