Students from Cheddar and Axbridge have reflected on their grades after results day and are now looking to the future.
Sophie Frankpitt, of Axbridge, attended Strode College in Street and in her A-levels achieved English Language A*, English Literature A*, History A* and Extended Project Qualification A*.
The former Kings Academy student is now planning to go to Warwick University to study English Language and Linguistics.
She said: "I feel incredibly happy with my results, and relieved that all my hard work paid off.
"I really enjoyed the lovely atmosphere at Strode College, which was very positive and welcoming.
"The History and English departments were great and supportive in my studies and in helping me achieve so much.
"The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) as well as English Language developed my passion for Linguistics. My EPQ Linguistics project is called 'Language is the infinite use of finite means'."
Isobel Persaud from Cheddar also attended Strode and in her A-levels achieved Dance A*, Law A*, English Literature A* and History A*.
The former Kings Academy student is now planning to study a Law degree at UCL.
She said: "I didn't expect my results to be so good.
"I worked really hard and really happy that it all worked out. I will be celebrating with friends by having a barbecue.
"Taking part in the musical while at college was an amazing experience. I could easily see teachers when I needed 'one to one' help, which has been a great help overall.
"My confidence in my own abilities has increased through teachers support at Strode. The course resources such as Moodle helped a lot with revision.
"I was unsure what to do at uni to start with, but decided to study Law at UCL as I enjoyed Law lessons at Strode and found it fascinating. Also, the aspire programme helped prepare uni applications."
Other high-achieving A-level results at Strode included Eleanor Jones from Cheddar who achieved Psychology A*, History A and Geography A; Sky Shoesmith from Rodney Stoke who achieved Further Maths A*, Computer Science A and Physics A; and Oliver Rutter from Draycott who achieved Psychology A*, Sociology A* and Biology A.
The Strode students who achieved a triple distinction star in their Extended Diploma included Lottie Hill from Cheddar who took a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business.
The Government's announcement on Wednesday detailing the 'Triple Lock' approach for the results, means that students can have the option to accept their calculated grades, appeal to receive their mock results instead or sit autumn exams as a third option.
Chris Harvey, Strode careers advisor, said: "Most Strode UCAS applicants have been placed and we are working very closely with a small minority who we are supporting through clearing.
"So the vast majority of our students will meet their firm or conditional offer and with Clearing offers included it is likely that almost all students will be placed.
"We've seen a really interesting and diverse range of degrees this year including Korean and Teaching English; Natural History and Media; Immersive Computing, Chemical Engineering, Construction Management, Mental Health Nursing, Neuroscience and Architecture."
Strode principal Katy Quinn said: "The Triple Lock means that we still haven't got a final overall picture of results for our students and expect that grades will increase further.
"Students should be proud of what they have achieved and everyone at Strode wishes them all the very best of luck with their next steps."
