Are you looking to get more involved with the Cheddar community?

Do you enjoy working with young people and children? Are you passionate about building children and young peoples' awareness and self-confidence to cope with the challenges of tomorrow?

If this sounds like you, then The Space needs you.

The Space is a registered charity providing a range of services to children, young people and families in the Cheddar Valley area and it is offering local residents the opportunity to help run its popular weekly youth club for young people 11 to 18 years of age.

Doreen Smith, operations director of The Space, said: "We are looking for volunteers to get involved for a few hours each week term-time and to help with our weekly summer activity programme if you are able.

"This is a great opportunity to work with a small and friendly team, learn new skills, give back to your community and, if relevant, add to your CV."

What does this entail?

  • To help supervise and support our youth club members.
  • Build a rapport and trusting relationships with youth workers, volunteers and children and young people.
  • To facilitate and participate in games, activities, and discussions with young people.
  • The Space offers a full induction and on-going support and training, and the opportunity of participating in wider Space activities.

If you are a good team player and looking to make a difference to the lives of children and young people in the community, The Space invites you to get in touch.

For further information or an informal chat contact Doreen Smith on 07872 169453 or via email at [email protected].
