A woman was rescued last night (September 17) after she fell into a seven-foot deep ditch in Cheddar.

Just after 8.30pm, a fire engine from Cheddar was sent to a report of a person who had fallen down a ditch and was unable to get out on the A371 Draycott Road.

On arrival crews confirmed that one female had fallen down a seven-foot dry ditch.

They rescued her using a triple extension ladder, and she was unharmed.
