Our property section is full of great homes in the Cheddar area.

Here is our top pick for the week:

Five-bedroom detached period house with stunning views in Wells Road, Draycott, offered for sale by Charles Barnard Estate Agents.

Rock House is a period property enjoying wonderful, uninterrupted views at the front. This detached family home dates back to 1832 and is within walking distance of the local village store and post office.

In need of modernisation in certain areas, there are plans to increase the size of the accommodation. The layout of this versatile home also gives it the option of an income.

The current accommodation includes a living room, dining room and a kitchen breakfast room. There are then five bedrooms and three bathrooms over two further floors.

The attractive gardens at the front and side are enclosed by mature hedging, very private and enjoy the fabulous elevated views. A Tarmac drive at the front has off road parking for three to four cars.

The entrance hall is split by original Bristol glass glazed doors. The rear hall has a turning staircase to the first floor with storage under.

The kitchen, on an upper level, is fitted with a range of wooden wall and base units which extend into a breakfast bar, with an inset one and a half bowl ceramic sink with mixer tap, space and plumbing for a dishwasher, space for a range style cooker and a freestanding fridge freezer, and extensive tiling to the water/cooking sensitive areas.

The lower level has space for a table and chairs, and a wooden double glazed window to the front takes in the stunning views.

A door leads out to a lobby with a larder cupboard and door into the downstairs WC. There is also a large walk in utility area with a work top with space and plumbing under for a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The living room has a wooden double glazed window at the front which takes in the wonderful uninterrupted countryside views. There is also a window to the side.

The dining room has a door out to the side of the house, and an area under the stairs has a door leading back into the kitchen.

The master bedroom has a range of fitted wardrobes. Two wooden windows to the front take in the amazing views from an elevated position, and there is a cast iron fireplace.

In the master en suite bathroom is a wood panelled bath with a shower and shower screen over, pedestal wash hand basin and a low level WC, obscure double glazed window to the side and an extractor fan.

Bedroom Two has a wooden double glazed window to the front aspect enjoying the countryside views, while Bedroom Three has a window to the side.

A lockable door on the landing then leads through to what can be used as an independent area.

Bedroom Four has full length French doors which open out to the side of the house. With a bathroom next door and a lockable door on the landing, this creates an independent space for the occupant and an income for the seller.

There is also a full length double glazed window to the front enjoying the views, an airing cupboard and a modern upright radiator.

The modern attractive family bathroom includes a panelled 'P' shaped bath with an electric shower and shower screen over.

There is a wall hung wash hand basin with counter top space alongside and storage drawers under.

A low level WC, modern upright towel radiator, under floor heating, fully tiled walls, a window to the rear, and recessed down lighting including an extractor fan also feature.

Bedroom Five has Velux roof windows to the front and rear as well as a double glazed window to the side.

This 'L' shaped area includes an area with kitchen base units and a worktop with an inset circular stainless steel wink and mixer tap.

The en suite bathroom has a panelled bath with mixer tap over, pedestal wash hand basin and a low level WC, exposed ceiling beam and a window to the side.

Outside, steps lead up to a wrought iron gate with a path then leading round to the front door. The private front garden is enclosed on all three sides by mature hedging.

There is a large decking area where you can enjoy the stunning views in privacy. There are then steps up to a lawned area at the side of the house which provides another private area to enjoy the views.

A path then leads to the main garden which is at the side of the house. This split level area is mainly laid to lawn.

Enclosed by further hedging, this and the other areas of the garden are private and have a selection of established trees, shrubs and mature planted borders.
