As the culmination of a recent scheme of work, five pupils at Fairlands Middle School in Cheddar were delighted to receive a visit this term from local PCSO Becky Smith, as well as two officers from the mounted division - PCs Rowan and Tristan.

The pupils were introduced to horses Mike and Trinity and learnt more about the role of the mounted police, their equipment and what it takes to become a police officer.

A spokesperson for the Wessex Learning Trust, that runs Fairlands, said: "It's safe to say the children really enjoyed the visit by the officers and learned some valuable information about the role of police within the community."
