The B3135 through Cheddar Gorge is the only major road into the village that does not have temporary traffic lights scheduled for next week.

On the A371, from Monday (August 17) to August 28, Truespeed are due to be using rolling temporary traffic lights between the junction with New Road in Draycott and the crossroads with Stoke Street and Scaddens Lane in Rodney Stoke, for work on ducts in the road.

On the B3151, from Friday (August 21) to August 25, Gigaclear are set to be using temporary traffic lights on the Cheddar Moor Road section towards Clewer, to undertake cabling works.

And on the A371 heading towards Axbridge, there are scheduled to be temporary traffic lights outside The Lodge while Bristol Water repairs a leak on Tuesday (August 18), and then on Wednesday (August 19) Somerset Highways are due to be using temporary traffic lights while they remove damaged and dangerous trees on the Axbirdge Bypass.

Other roadworks that are scheduled to take place in Cheddar next week include:

Hannay Road and Warrens Hill, in Cheddar, are due to be closed from 8am to 4pm on Sunday (August 23), to enable A-Plant Lux to carry out cabling works on behalf of BT Openreach.

Related to the closures and the works, there will also be multi-way temporary traffic lights on the Sunday at the crossroads where the B3135 meets Hannay Road and Round Oak Road.

From Monday to Wednesday, BT are scheduled to be clearing blockages in Greenhayes, and are due to be undertaking similar work in The Chestnuts from Wednesday to Friday, and in Wedmore Road from Thursday to August 24.
