Cheddar Parish Council has a vacancy for a member of the public to serve as a parish councillor and represent the local electorate.

It is an opportunity to get involved in making decisions about important issues affecting the local community, including the environment, traffic and transport, planning and housing, policing and anti-social behaviour, community events and local amenities.

Chairman of Cheddar Parish Council, Peter Colton, said: "This is an interesting and rewarding role and we would encourage anyone with an interest in the community to apply."

Applicants must be aged 18 years or over, eligible to vote and have lived or worked in the parish of Cheddar or within three miles of the parish boundary for at least one year.
