As we move into October, there is no let up in the number of events taking place in and around Cheddar.

A number of these events in the Cheddar area are being added to our recently revamped What's On section.

Our top event pick for this week is the Mendip Hills and Cheddar Gorge Walk, which takes place at part of the Let's Walk Bristol festival.

This is a stunning walk and a grand tour of the Mendip Hills, taking in Cheddar Reservoir, Beacon Batch and the limestone track which looks down on the famous Cheddar Gorge itself.

There are woodland sections too, most notably the beautiful Long Wood with its moss-clad trees and winding path. The highest point will be Beacon Batch, the site of Bronze Age round barrows.

The event takes place on Saturday (October 2), and for more information, visit the website here.

You can list your events - e.g. shows, films, sports fixtures, quiz nights, local markets, steak nights at the local pub, jazz choir rehearsals, or anything else - on our What's On page FREE of charge, just click this link and then click the black Nub It button.
