Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed they are investigating after a number of cars were damaged in Cheddar overnight.

The police say they received several reports this morning (September 27) of cars in Cheddar being damaged overnight.

It is understood that windscreens and windows on the cars had been smashed, and incidents have been reported in The Barrows, Lower North Street and Hannay Road.

A police spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing to find out if there is any CCTV available.

"We'd ask anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously overnight, witnessed what happened or may have CCTV or dashcam footage, to call 101 and give reference number 5221225020."
