A planning application for 20 homes on Cheddar Road will be discussed at a virtual Axbridge Town Council meeting tomorrow (Monday April 20).

The application for 20 new homes at Mendip View will be discussed at the full council meeting, which will be held from 7.30pm via Zoom.

The planning application, from Stonewater Ltd, is for two detached houses with three parking spaces each and 18 semi-detached homes, each with two parking spaces.

Other planning applications to be discussed include a new self-build also in Cheddar Road and two new holiday lodges in Cross.

As well as planning applications, a number if other items will be discussed, including the reports from the police, county councillor, district councillor and Axbridge Town Trust.

Possible approval of the draft Axbridge Neighbourhood Plan is on the agenda, as is a proposal for the council to join the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England.

The council will also discuss a way forward for the appointment of a mayor and deputy mayor for 2020/21, including a proposal that the current incumbents continue in their roles unless they wish to retire.

Members of the public are welcome to join the meeting. Please use your full first name and surname and turn on video (unless adversely impacts on internet performance).

The meeting will be locked at 7.35pm – after which new joiners will not be permitted. Please note that usual public participation rules apply.
