Plans to convert barn in Axbridge into home are given the go-ahead

Plans to convert a barn in Axbridge into a home have been given the green light by Sedgemoor District Council.

A planning application for the change of use and conversion of an outbuilding to a self-contained dwelling at Walnut Farm, Portmeade Drove, Axbridge, was submitted by Moira Glass.

The single-storey barn is of permanent and substantial construction, and will not require any structural works before it can be converted into a two-bedroom home.

Planning applications in the Cheddar area that have been submitted to Sedgemoor District Council this week include:

Erection of a single storey extension to south elevation at Tristram, Biddisham Lane, Biddisham, has been applied for by Mr J Webber.

Erection of a dwelling and garage at land to the rear of Taveners Cottage, Front Street, Stone Allerton, is wanted by Mr T Fielder.

Retrospective application for the change of use of land to a glamping site with five bell-tents and the siting of a mobile toilet/shower block, together with laying of hard-standing and erection of willow screen at Owley, Bradley Cross, Cheddar, has been made by Mrs Tyler.

Erection of a single storey extension to the front (NE) elevation at Cremorne House, Barrows Park, Cheddar, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Ievers.

Conversion of existing garage to living accommodation and erection of a attached garage to the front (South) elevation at Westway House, Webbington Road, Compton Bishop, is wanted by C Cox and J Pridham.

Variation of Conditions 2 of Planning Permission 33/19/00032 (Formation of cricket pitch and square, and erection of pavilion) to amend the approved plans to allow for repositioning of pavillion to the south east corner at land to the west of Vole Road, Mark, has been applied for by Mark Cricket Club.

Conversion of barn and erection of single storey extension to rear (south) elevation to form single dwelling at Springwater Farm, Mudgley, is wanted by Mr Keane.

Planning applications in the Cheddar area that have been decided this week by Sedgemoor District Council include:

Erection of a two storey extension with balcony at Kingsway Farm, Kingsway, Tarnock, by Mr and Mrs Keedwell has been approved.

Variation of Condition 1 of Planning Permission 17/20/00020 (Variation of Condition 2 of Planning Permission 17/17/00093, Erection of a dwelling, to amend approved vehicle turning area) to allow for the installation of photo-voltaic panels to the roof at Ravenscroft, Barrows Road, Cheddar, by Mr and Mrs Jenkin has been approved.

Erection of a single storey extension to rear (South) elevation, on site of existing conservatory (to be demolished) at 7 Kemm Close, Cheddar, by Mr and Mrs Batten has been approved.

Outline application with some matters reserved for the erection of a dwelling and garage at The Larches, The Causeway, Mark, by Mr and Mrs May has been approved.

Conversion of garage to living accommodation and erection of a first floor extension at Orwell House, The Square, Shipham, by Mr N Hansford has been withdrawn.

Conversion of detached garage to holiday accommodation at Wildflowers, Rowberrow Lane, Shipham, by Ms Rodway has been approved.

Formation of concrete yard at New Grove Farm, Snipefield Lane, Blackford, by Mr Coombes has been approved.

Application for Non-Material Amendment to Planning Permission 50/19/00137 (Variation of Condition 2 of Planning Permission 50/18/00056 - Erection of 35 dwellings with access, landscaping, parking, public open space and associated works - to allow for various amendments to plots and layout) to allow for amendments to landscaping of front gardens to Plots 26-31 (inclusive) to change from hard landscaping to soft landscaping at land east of Wedmore First School, Blackford Road, Wedmore, by Strongvox Homes has been approved.
