Student at Kings Academy in Cheddar tests positive for Covid-19

A student at Kings Academy in Cheddar has this morning (September 17) tested positive for coronavirus.

In a statement, the school has confirmed that a sixth form student has reported this morning that they have had a positive test for Covid-19, and that student's bubble at the school has been closed.

The statement said: "A student in Year 13 has this morning reported testing positive for Covid-19.

"We have made the decision to close the Year 13 bubble with immediate effect.

"Kings are working closely and are in consultation with Public Health England on our next steps.

"We will provide further information as soon as we can."
