Tourists able to stay at Cheddar holiday park for more than three months after approval given

Tourists will be allowed to stay at a holiday park in Cheddar for more than three months a year after planning approval was granted.
A planning application by Mr B Whitcombe for the variation of Condition 3 of Planning Permission 17/17/00067 (siting of four holiday lodges with parking areas and continuation of internal access track) by removing part b) that requires the lodges to not be occupied by the same person or family for more than three months in any 12-month period at Longmead Country Escapes, Axbridge Road, Cheddar, has been approved by Sedgemoor District Council.
The lodges have been marketed since May 2019 for sale, but the restriction had prevented any sales as it precluded purchasers from using the lodges for any period longer than three months in any 12-month period.
For example it prevented owners from visiting their holiday lodges for more than three months, or prevented overseas visitors from using the holiday lodges for longer than three months.
However, there will now be more flexibility for the length of time that people can stay at the site, which will still only allow tourism and permanent residence will not be permitted.

Works to a tree in a Conservation Area T1 ash - reduce limb by 2.5m back to identified union at Saxon Field, Mudgley Road, Wedmore, have been applied for by Mr Hood.

Erection of a single storey extension to south elevation to form a sun room, on site of existing lean-to and outbuilding (to be demolished) at The Old Rectory, St Mary's Street, Axbridge, by Mr Turner has been approved.
Works to trees in a Conservation Area T1 ash and T2 sycamore - reduce height to a max of 2.5m at 3 The Georgian House, St Mary's Street, Axbridge, by Mr D Corbet have been approved.
Application to determine if prior approval is required for a proposed erection of a pole barn on land off Silver Street, Cheddar, by Mr Young has been withdrawn.
Conversion of coach house to form ancillary accommodation to the existing main dwelling and a home gym at Sunnydale, Redmans Hill, Blackford, by Mr Arnstein has been approved.
Erection of single-storey steel portal framed garage on concrete base at 1 Council Houses, Rughill, Cocklake, by Mr Smith has been approved.
Works to trees in a Conservation Area variegated maple T1 and maple T2 - crown reduce by 2.5m at Prospect Villa, Grants Lane, Wedmore, by Mr Colthurst have been approved.
