What's on in the Cheddar area this weekend March 7 and 8

This regular feature will inform you of events happening in Cheddar and the surrounding area in the upcoming weekend.

Below is a list of events happening in Cheddar and the surrounding area in the coming weekend, March 7 and 8.

Saturday March 7:

Dani's Balanced Dogs Cheddar Pack Walk

  1. 30am to noon - the King's Head, Cheddar BS27 3LE

Free to join, family friendly, flat route and accessible to all, free training advice, meet new people, open to reactive dogs and over excited dogs alike.

Free Boogie Beat Class

  1. 30pm to 2.15pm - Kings Fitness and Leisure, Cheddar BS27 3AH

Boogie Beat HQ is holding an open day for prospective franchisees. With its roots firmly in Cheddar, naturally it is hosting one here. Directors Lisa and Nicky will run a class for everyone to see Boogie Beat in action.

Sunday March 8:

Cheddar Gorge Meet

From noon - Cheddar Gorge BS27 3QF

Petrolheads are holding a meet at Cheddar Gorge where they will stop for photos and then drive on to Burnham-on-Sea.

Music Sunday

5pm to 9.30pm - The Cider Barn, Draycott BS27 3RU

The line up will be Tom Willcox, John D Revelator and Red Eyed Crow. Expect ill behaviour and an appearance from a local sporting legend.

Women in the Woods

Noon to 4pm - The Crooked Cottage, Axbridge BS26 2BA

This group is for women of any age who are in need of a place to be themselves freely, to share raw experience without judgement, to ask for advice (or not!) and for their voice to be heard and valued.

Saturday and Sunday March 7 and 8:

SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming

From noon on both days - Kings Fitness and Leisure, Cheddar BS27 3AH

This course is for Level 1 Swimming Assistants who want to become a swimming teachers. It develops your knowledge, skills and abilities enabling you to independently plan and deliver swimming lessons.
