A woman was hurt after she fainted and fell on a steep incline at Cheddar Gorge yesterday afternoon (July 13).

Just after 3.15pm, a call was received by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service to a female who had fainted and fallen at the top of Cheddar Gorge.

A crew from Cheddar Fire Station arrived on the scene and requested the off-road vehicle from Cheddar to assist.

Contact was made with the casualty, and working with paramedics, she was extricated from the steep cliff path using a paraguard stretcher and into a waiting ambulance.
