In line with the easing of lockdown restrictions, Cheddar Parish Council has announced that the skateboard park at Sharpham Road Playing Fields is now open again.

However, there are strict guidelines for its usage, as recommended by Skateboard England:

Only skate on your own, with other members of your household or with one other person from outside your household, while keeping two metres apart.

Keep at least two metres apart from other people at all times while skateboarding.

Only use the skate park if you are actively skateboarding and leave immediately after finishing.

There must be a maximum of three people at this skate park. Any more than that and you will not be able to be properly socially distant. Come back another time.

Chairman of Cheddar Parish Council Peter Colton said: "We are pleased to open up the skate park again but concerned that groups well in excess of three are already congregating there and not maintaining social distance.

"For the safety of everyone the guidelines must be adhered to."

Sharpham Road Playing Fields and Hannah More Park remain open for people to exercise, but the children's playgrounds are still closed.
