Axbridge Litter Pickers get their award

Selfless Somerset citizens who have gone the extra mile to support their communities have been recognised for their contributions at the Somerset County Council Chairman's Awards.

The Chairman's Awards were recently held at Taunton Rugby Club with 16 individuals and four groups presented with certificates and pin-badges by Somerset County Council Acting Chair Councillor Mark Keating.

Matthew Williams is studying a T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development (IT) at Strode College

Strode College in Street marks the second year of delivery of the new T Levels qualifications, they started offering these new employer-designed courses which are equivalent to 3 A Levels from September 2020.

The pioneering new qualifications have been designed in collaboration with leading employers to provide the skills that businesses across the region need. The subject areas on offer also reflect some of the top local business growth areas.

After an absence of two years the Royal Bath & West Show will return in 2022, and tickets are now on sale for this much-anticipated event.

Coinciding with the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend (2nd-4th June), the organisers have listened to the views of previous visitors and are bringing back the hugely popular Paul Hannam Stunt Show and Pawsability Dog Agility Display, as well as Lakeside Farm. Also making a welcome return is the Pilton Tent, with the opportunity to camp on-site.

Sedgemoor District Council has announced that it will be offering free parking in both of its Cheddar car parks for the three weekends before Christmas.

People will be able to park without charge in all 18 of the council-owned car parks across Sedgemoor, including the ones in Church Street and Cliff Street in Cheddar, on Saturday 4th, 11th and 18th December.
