The Square in Axbridge

A call has been made for CCTV in Axbridge Square by the town's chamber of commerce, following recent spates of anti-social behaviour.

In an open letter from chairman Louise Jane Cooling, treasurer Mike Sartain, membership secretary Pat Filer and secretary Harry Mottram, Axbridge Chamber of Commerce has also said a break-in at the tea rooms has highlighted the need for CCTV.

The Kings Academy in Cheddar is one of the trust's schools

The Wessex Learning Trust, which runs nine schools in the Cheddar area, has taken precautions to prevent any potential spread of coronavirus, including cancelling assemblies and Easter church services.

In a statement, chief executive of the trust Gavin Ball explained that the trust was doing everything it could to keep core education going for as long as they could without interruption.
