A planning application to build an agricultural worker's home on the edge of Mark, has been withdrawn.
Plans for the building of a timber agricultural worker's dwelling, with formation of new access and turning area on land to the south of Rookery Farm, Northwick Road, Mark, had been submitted to Sedgemoor District Council by Mr C Petheram.

Hundreds of education staff in the Cheddar area have received free flu vaccinations, given to them on their school site.
The Wessex Learning Trust - which runs a number of schools in the area including Kings of Wessex Academy, Cheddar First School and Axbridge Academy - says it is very proud that this term it has been able to offer free in-school flu vaccinations to all staff within the trust.

Somerset County Council will again be providing help to families in need of support over the October half term.
The Department for Work and Pensions has extended its Covid Local Support Grant, providing £230,000 to Somerset County Council to support vulnerable families, along with £57,000 from the Department of Health and Social Care's Contain Outbreak Management Fund.

A driver has been sentenced for causing a crash between Blackford and Mark that killed a cyclist, who was just yards from her front door.
Victoria Hamer was at the wheel of a red Volkswagen Polo on Thursday September 17 2020 when she collided with a bicycle being ridden by 57-year-old Lorraine Barrow on the B3139.
